Members of the National Council of Canadian Tamils,

I am honoured to be joining you this February 28 as we celebrate the many contributions that Canadian Tamils have made to our country, province and communities.

NCCT regularly reaches out through its members to make the communities that we live in better. Whether its fundraising for the Heart and Strok foundation, organizing blood donor drives, participating in Ontario's arts industry, or advocating for the human rights of all Canadians.

On this day I am excited to come together with you to recognize a number of individuals whose work has been exemplary this year.

One of my favourite quotes says: "Never douby that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

This gala event is an incredible opportunity to recognize just a few of those thoughtful citizens.
