First convening on July 1, 2010 the NCCT has worked hard to overcome a number of barriers affecting the Tamil community in Canada while also raising awareness of the growing problems back home. Ontario’s diversity is one of the greatest assets that have made our province to be the best in Canada. Many Ontarians come to this great province seeking educational opportunities, hope and prosperity. As MPP for Toronto Centre, I am proud to say that Ontario is the home to the largest diaspora of Tamils beyond the borders of their homeland. Many Canadian Tamils worked hard to establish themselves and moved to other parts of Ontario. The NCCT has been instrumental in ensuring a better quality of life for Tamil peoples.
