On behalf of the Markham Council, I am very pleased to extend my best wishes and greetings to the National Council of Canadian Tamils (NCCT) on the occasion of their Annual ‘Grand Gala’ on February 28, 2015. We all know that Justice for Tamils is not going to come from the oppressor. It saddens me that Tamils have to wait for a change to come from outside to create a change inside Sri Lanka. As such, I applaud NCCT for their consistent efforts in addressing the issues of the voiceless people back home and in getting the International community involved to protect the fundamental human and democratic rights of the Tamil Nation in Sri Lanka. The solidarity of the Tamil Diaspora is the future for the Tamils in motherland
