My greetings for what i am sure will be a successful and enjoyable event

I was proud to propose a motion last year, seconded by my NDP collegue Rathika Sitsabaesan, calling for an independent international investigation into allegations of war crimes and other serious human rights violations during the Sri Lankan civil war. I was pleased that this motion received unanimous support from all partoes in the House of Commons. Shortly afterwards, the UN HumanrRights Council authorized an investigation, as well as the recent Sri Lankan election results, will mark a new and true begining for peace, justice, human rights, and accountability in Sri Lanka. Of course, the work of international civil society organizations is critical in supporting these objectives, in Sri anka and arround the world.  .
