Award Categories & Eligibility

Community Service

Recognizes individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to enhancing the well-being of the Tamil Canadian community. Nominees should have demonstrated leadership and service through community involvement, charity, or other social initiatives.

Arts

Honours outstanding contributions in the fields of visual arts, music, theatre, dance, and other artistic endeavours. Nominees should have demonstrated creativity, innovation, and a commitment to their artistic discipline.

Sports

Awarded to individuals who have excelled in sports, showing exceptional skill, sportsmanship, or dedication to their sport, whether locally, nationally, or internationally. This includes athletes, coaches, and administrators.

Youth Inspiration (Under 30)

Recognizes young individuals under 30 who have shown exceptional leadership, innovation, or contribution to society. Nominees must be under the age of 30 at the time of nomination and have demonstrated significant impact in their field or community.

Advocacy

Given to individuals or organizations that have worked tirelessly to advocate for a cause, raise awareness, or drive positive social change. Nominees must have worked on behalf of social, political, or environmental causes with measurable impact.

Science and Innovation

Recognizes outstanding achievements in scientific research, technological advancement, or innovation that have had a significant impact. Nominees should have made notable contributions to scientific discovery or technological development, or created innovative solutions with far-reaching potential.

Entrepreneurship

Awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial spirit by starting or growing a successful business, or creating social enterprises. Nominees must have founded or led a successful business or startup that has demonstrated growth, innovation, or social impact.

Women's Leadership

Honours an exceptional Tamil woman who is making a significant impact in their communities and beyond. Nominee has demonstrated exceptional leadership, impact, and commitment to empowering the Tamil community through achievements in fields such as community service, entrepreneurship, arts, science, activism, and beyond.

Other

A category for achievements that do not fit into the above categories but are still worthy of recognition. Nominee's achievements should be unique or notable, contributing to society or a specific field in ways not covered by the other categories.
